2013 Annual Emergency Services Scholarship Awards Program
The scholarship program was developed in an effort to pay tribute to those who unselfishly gave their lives in an effort to save others during the September 11th, 2001 tragedy. The award consists of one tuition-free 64-hour USAR Confined Space and Structural Rope Rescue - Operations level course.
Application Each award candidate must apply for the scholarship by completing a short on-line questionnaire (below). The selection of award winners will be based primarily on the applicant's answers to questions regarding their personal motivation and intended use of the training. See the 2012 Scholarship Award Winners! Applications for the 2013 scholarship awards are being accepted at this time.
Applicant Qualifications Applicants must be career municipal, county, state, or federal firefighters, law enforcement officers, or emergency medical service providers with job-specific requirements for technical rescue. If accepted, applicants must show proof of travel and lodging arrangements at least three weeks prior to start of the classes. Award winners must be willing to attend the provided course on the specified dates regardless of previous experience.
The specific course dates for the 2013 Scholarship Awards Program and award recipients will be announced the last week in November of 2012 and the courses will held in Panama City, Florida at an active fossil-fuel power generation facility.
